follow the instructions its complicated but worth it
lol absolutely the weirdest machine I've ever used but once you learn the process that makes it work the coffee is absolutely amazing and super hot. read the start up instructions when first starting the machine and make sure to open the water door add water leave the lid up plug it in and leave it alone with the side switch on for at least 15 m in minutes before you even add coffee. The water tray door is the start button the moment you close it the machine will start and if the coils aren't warmed up the coffee will be cold.

THIS THING RULES !!
I love good cofffee . And this thing definitely makes it !! No bitter taste , very fast , reliable and easy to use . It's keep water boiling in the tank at all times so when you add water to it to make coffee , the hot water comes out immediately and the new water you added replaces the hot water and begins heating for later . Genius move by BUNN !! They have not updated this model in 10+ years because there is no reason to .

Bunn makes a great product and this machine makes coffee in 3 minutes
Bunn makes a great product and this machine makes coffee in 3 minutes. Who needs a coffee pot that has a programable setting so coffee is ready when you get up when this machine makes great coffee so fast. I just wanted to add a note to my review. Always put the pot back on the heating element. If you don't you might find a puddle of coffee that has dripped after you think it is don't dripping.

Clean often!
Let me start by saying how much I love this machine! Coffee in three minutes… What is not to love? However, I want to recommend that you clean your machine often! I’ve had this machine since January, use it daily, but decided that maybe it needed a thorough cleaning today. I ran a pot of bleach through it, and this was the result. I have been having some stomach trouble for the last month, checked online and saw that other people have thought that maybe it was their coffee maker. After looking at this pot of brown water, I think maybe they are right.

You’re gonna love these Bunns baby...
If you’re like me, and I don’t suspect many of you are, but if you are, this is the ONLY coffee maker to buy! I am one of those guys who yells at the microwave to hurry up. Even remembering the days of TV dinners that you had to heat in the OVEN. Back when the TV remote was the closest kid to the TV and everyone in the family new the sweet spot in adjusting the rabbit ears to get good reception. Back to the Bunn. Before there was Mr. Coffee, the sexist misogynistic jackass he is, there was Bunn. Think COMERCIAL coffee maker. In the days where it took fifteen minutes for Mr. Coffee to even show up to the race, Bunn has me four cups in. I say, and take it from me as I’m a professional coffee drinker, there is no better coffee maker out there unless it produces IV bags and a drip that lets you just mainline your coffee. Until that is invented, Bunn baby.

two kinds of coffee drinkers--bitter and sweet
Preface--there are two kinds of coffee drinkers. The Starbucks-kind, who drink what I consider bitter swill and don't consider a coffee acceptable if it is smooth, and the Farmers Brothers-kind, who like the smooth richness found in Farmers coffee, which, in turn, can only be found in better restaurants and cafes. The Starbucks-type like a maker with a cone shaped filter so that they can extract the last little bit of acidity and bitterness, people that brew smoother blends do well with a flat bottomed brewer like the Bunn. There is a reason that almost every restaurant and commercial coffee service uses Bunn equipment. Bunn makes great coffee. It makes it in about 3 minutes, and will make a subsequent pot immediately if you have a second carafe. And it will make a third, fourth, fifth . . . I am on my third Bunn in 39 years, and actually the second one was still working, it just had gotten ugly with use and didn't fit our new kitchen. My wife took it to work and gave it away when she retired. Two caveats. At our cabin, we cannot use a Bunn or any reservoir type maker because of freezing temperatures between visits. For best results, only use Bunn filters, available at Ace Hardware and elsewhere, they are just a smidge taller and keep the grounds out of the carafe better. So, you have to make a seperate trip instead of picking up the common filters at the grocery store. Prices seem about the same, with Bunn at Ace a little cheaper. Oh, and when I use a different brand or grind of coffee and it seems a little weak, before I just increase the amount of coffee, I try using two filters, the slightly slower drip time seems to get all the flavor out of more stubborn grinds. For my usual cup-of-joe, a single filter works superbly. Last, but not least, you can get instant hot water for tea by simply pouring in the appropriate amount of hot water without using grounds and a filter. I have gifted many Bunns over the years, the recipients seem to love them.

Good purchase
Not usually a big fan of drip coffee machines. Very particular about my coffee and it has to be strong. This is very easy to use and super fast. The temperature is good. I was using a French press before and now my mornings go much faster and I get more coffee. I will note that the coffee, while stronger than a standard drip machine, is not quite as strong as I'd prefer. And when you fill it up to the ten cup line you end up with eight cups. I remedy this by starting out with the pot full to the rim. Also, my toddler turned off the pot one day without me noticing and I will note that the got water compartment takes a super long time to initially heat up. It was a really hard morning.

Only coffee pot we'll ever use
We've owned Bunn coffee makers for 20 years now. This is the third my family has purchased. The replacements are not due to the coffee maker, but our water. Our water is extremely hard and after awhile, even with monthly cleanings, the minerals take their toll on the insides of the maker. I don't need autostart in the morning, or fresh ground coffee every morning. I just want a good, hot cup of coffee. Bunn does the job.

This is a great pot! The only very slight flaw I can see is the pot has too much freedom on the warming plate, so you have to be a little careful where you put it. Also, a little tip- keep the pot lid closed when you pour water into the tank with the pot, and it will pour more neatly. I had my last bunn for 5 yrs., I hope this one will last that long also. We have given up on Keurig, they lasted about 3 mos. each, 6 of them. However the Mr. Coffee Keurig has lasted about 2 yrs. so far. We use this when we want only 1 cup.

Perfect replacement
Had to finally break down and order a new one - this is simple to operate and brews great coffee. The only change we did was to add the diffuser spout instead of the direct one it comes with. We contacted the company some time ago about the force that the direct one has and sprays the grounds with such force it goes over the filter and puts grounds in the coffee. Loved the redesign on the coffee pot as well - easier to pour!
